Apartment fire in DeKalb County displaces residents, damages multiple units

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — An apartment fire in DeKalb County has displaced several residents.

“Hurtful. I hope I didn’t lose all of my stuff, but it probably got wet and smoke-damaged,” said Sylvia Williams, who lives in the apartment where the fire occurred.

The fire at 5959 Fairington Road in Stonecrest/Lithonia left residents temporarily homeless, with heavy damage visible to the upstairs units of the two-story building…
