ATLANTA, GEORGIA — A Level 1 Marginal severe weather risk has been issued for today Saturday across a broad zone covering Georgia and South Carolina including Atlanta, Gainesville, Greenville, Charlotte, Columbia, Augusta, Macon, Savannah, and Brunswick as storms try to re-develop during the afternoon and evening hours following a cool and rainy morning that has left temperatures sitting in the 50s and 60s across the region.
Forecasters describe today as a race to see if the atmosphere can recover enough to support storm development late in the day.
