No doctor, no refill: Beech Island family caught in primary care gap

BEECH ISLAND, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – A Beech Island man says his father was dropped by his primary care doctor the day before a scheduled appointment — leaving him scrambling to find a new provider while running low on insulin.

Anthony Williamson said he received a voicemail from his father’s doctor’s office saying his father, Stephen, would no longer be seen as a patient.

“I got a voicemail saying that they’re not going to honor the visit,” Anthony Williamson said. “And I called them back and they told me that he’s no longer a patient.”…
