Local doctor finds treatable disease in farmworkers keeping your food supply moving

EDGEFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – Migrant laborers are central to the harvest at Costa Farms in Edgefield County, where 140 legal workers from Latin America help keep crops picked and the food supply moving. But many of those workers have no access to basic health care.

For more than two decades, Costa Farms and Wellstar MCG have partnered to provide preventive health care to workers on-site — including EKGs and echocardiograms.
