Edgefield County Approves $1.36M for Land Buy for EMS, Piedmont Tech Facilities

Edgefield County Council met in special session Tuesday night, where they held a final reading of a $6.25 million general obligation bond issue. That includes $1.36 million to buy 115 acres at the county’s industrial park.

The land sits off Edgefield Road near Trenton and will serve two purposes: a new EMS headquarters plus a $10 million Advanced Manufacturing Center from Piedmont Technical College. The remaining money in the issue will fund construction of the EMS headquarters, estimated at $5 million.
