Grovetown reacts to truck-train collision

GROVETOWN, Ga (WJBF) – A truck got stuck on a railroad track and was hit by an oncoming train on Monday. It was not the first time a truck has been stuck on the Katherine Street railroad crossing in Grovetown.

There are several signs that say trucks are not allowed at the crossing. An alternate route for trucks is also indicated.

The railroad tracks are owned by CSX. CSX also owns 100 feet on each side of crossing, so the city of Grovetown is limited on how they prevent incidents…
