DENVER (KDVR) — A wildfire near Colorado’s Western Slope has prompted officials to respond with aerial resources and urge evacuations in the surrounding area.
Hotchkiss Fire District officials say the wildfire is on the Redlands Mesa at the North Road and Rimrock intersection, and that while officials are responding, the blaze is too intense for ground efforts.

According to a release, aerial resources have been deployed while fire crews perform structure protection in the surrounding area; however, people are asked to avoid the area.
Anybody who may be in danger is encouraged to relocate before notification, as evacuations are already underway in some spots…
