As Denver residents band together to help cut water usage to deal with the ongoing drought in the region, the communities have found a common enemy: each other. According to local NBC News station Next 9News, Denver Water has fielded thousands of calls from residents complaining about their neighbor’s water usage.
That’s because Denver Water has limited customers to two days a week when it comes to using their water for things like lawn maintenance, which Next 9News says is down from the typical three days a week that they are normally allowed during other hot stretches.
The water authority had hoped this would lead to a 20 percent reduction in water usage, but reports say that residents are nowhere near that number. And residents aren’t shy about throwing one another under the bus about it either…
