The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking a Denver judge to overturn a state labor ruling that found county officials unlawfully interfered with a 2024 effort by sheriff’s deputies to unionize.
The dispute began in early 2024 when the Fraternal Order of Police sought to organize sheriff’s deputies and sergeants under Colorado’s County Collective Bargaining by County Employees Act, known as COBCA.
