The National Weather Service Denver/Boulder office puts the chance of showers and thunderstorms at 30% Sunday afternoon and evening, with temperatures peaking near 84 degrees before easing toward 80. National Weather Service forecasters say the strongest storms could produce damaging wind gusts, hail and localized flooding.
The storm threat is not expected to be widespread, but saturated ground from recent rain could make heavy downpours a problem in isolated spots. Anyone heading outside Sunday afternoon should keep an eye on changing skies and be ready to move indoors quickly if thunder develops.
