A man wanted for assaulting another customer inside a Wheat Ridge King Soopers in January is still unidentified more than seven months later, and police say the clearest lead they have is the DoorDash grocery order he abandoned at the register when he fled. Investigators describe him as a white or Hispanic man in his 20s to 30s, roughly six feet tall, with blue eyes and blonde or reddish hair.
According to the Wheat Ridge Police Department, the assault happened on January 13, while the suspect was in the process of completing a DoorDash transaction at a King Soopers store. He is accused of assaulting another customer who was standing in line, then leaving the groceries from his own order behind at the checkout as he left the scene. The department issued its public appeal for help identifying him on Wednesday, listing the case as 26-662. Wheat Ridge has two King Soopers locations that handle DoorDash pickup and delivery orders — the Applewood store at 3400 Youngfield Street and the Ridge Village store at 5301 West 38th Avenue — though the police bulletin does not specify which one was the scene of the assault.
