Suspect accused of killing man walking dog was on probation for Logan County robbery

DENVER — The man accused of killing a man who was walking his dog last week in Denver was on probation related to a prior case in Logan County and was free on bond while facing charges in a separate Denver case.

Kaylen Stroter, 22, faces a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting that happened shortly before 1 p.m. April 9 in the 1100 block of 32nd Street.

Officers initially responded to the area for an assault. According to a probable cause statement for Stroter’s arrest, someone called 911 shortly before 1 p.m. and reported hearing a woman screaming for a man to get off of her. Multiple other people called 911 and said they saw a man with a gun, and then heard a gunshot…
