Lakewood’s stretch of West Colfax just got a little smokier. El Pollo Loco has opened a new restaurant at 6441 W. Colfax Ave., bringing the chain’s citrus-marinated, fire-grilled chicken to the busy Colfax corridor. The spot sits in the Lamar Station shopping center near the Casa Bonita complex and lists daily service hours starting at 10 a.m. On the menu are the chain’s familiar staples, including tacos, bowls, family meals and freshly made guacamole.
As reported by 9News, the Lakewood restaurant is the chain’s fourth location in Colorado and was scheduled to open at 10 a.m. on Monday. El Pollo Loco’s store locator now lists the new Lakewood address and shows regular hours of 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., along with a local phone number for call-in orders.
El Pollo Loco’s Colorado Rollout
The Lakewood launch is the latest move in El Pollo Loco’s Colorado rollout. The chain first returned to the state with a Denver outpost at 4698 Peoria St. in November 2022, as documented by Westword. The brand later added an Arvada location, then marked a growth milestone when it opened its 500th U.S. restaurant in October 2025, a step the company described in a press release as part of its push to expand beyond its California base.
