BERTHOUD, Colo. (KDVR) — A Berthoud firefighter remains hospitalized after a deadly wrong-way crash on Interstate 25 in Denver over the weekend, according to colleagues and a GoFundMe launched by his family.
Denver Police say the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. Sunday in the HOV lane on northbound I-25 near 20th Street. Denver police said a driver traveling the wrong way in the HOV lane collided head-on with another vehicle.
The wrong-way driver died at the scene, according to police. The other driver, identified by the Berthoud Fire Protection District as firefighter Ken Bradley, suffered serious injuries and has been in the hospital ever since.
