Sandoval: Texas softball’s dynasty is here

A college softball dynasty is being formed in the Lone Star state. Texas completed its rise to softball’s summit Thursday night, defeating Texas Tech 4-1 in Game 2 of the Women’s College World Series Championship Series at Devon Park to secure its second consecutive NCAA Division I national championship.

The Longhorns (53-12) claimed the program’s second national title and successfully defended the crown they won in 2025, becoming one of only a handful of teams in WCWS history to repeat as champions.
