US Marshals arrest 1 person in connection with 2025 Manor homicide

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The U.S. Marshals Service on Monday arrested one person in connection with a late-Sept. 2025 death of a 75-year-old man in Manor, according to the Manor Police Department.

Afamefula Egwu, 23, faces a charge for first-degree murder and as of Monday he is being held at the Travis County Central Booking on a $1,000,000 bond. KXAN is working to find a legal representative for Egwu.

In an affidavit obtained by KXAN, Egwu, who goes by BJ, was allegedly seen on surveillance cameras arriving on an all-terrain vehicle to the house of Donald McVade on Sept. 23 just before midnight.

McVade was not seen on camera again after walking back home around 4:30 p.m. on the same day, according to the affidavit. Authorities said they found him dead on Sept. 25 in the morning at his house in the 500 block of Llano Street after a family member called police for a welfare check…
