AUSTIN (KXAN) — Dangerous heat through the rest of the weekend with little rain, but relief comes later in the work week with the return of the 90s.
A Heat Advisory has been issued for most of the region, in effect through the evening hours.
Sunday
Triple-digit heat continues on Sunday with highs around 101 degrees paired with dangerous heat index values as high as 110 degrees.
Clouds build later in the day. A few stray sea breeze showers are possible in the afternoon, primarily east of I-35.
More heat this week, but a pattern change is in sight
High temperatures hit triple digits each day through midweek, with feels-like temperatures from 104 to 110 degrees. Additional heat alerts are likely early in the week.
Humidity remains high, contributing to the sticky and hot feel.
Breezy winds kick in the next few days, gusting as high as 25 miles per hour from the south.
Late in the week, the high-pressure heat dome that has been parked over the region begins to shift east as low pressure dips over the Plains.
The front associated with the system may not reach Central Texas, but the removal of upper-level high pressure from directly over the area should help to drop temperatures back to the upper 90s and help with the heat…
