WATCH: Shocked Texas Cyclists Unwittingly Find Themselves in Herd of Feral Hogs

‘We start really picking up our speed, and we’re soaring, and the hogs all start running with us just as fast,’ Rayne Clarkson said

Two Texas women found themselves among some unusual companions on their bike ride on Thursday — a herd of wild hogs .

Rachel Furnish and Rayne Clarkson bike together on the Southern Walnut Creek Trail in Austin regularly, but this week’s ride was a little bit different, KXAN reported.

Furnish and Clarkson suddenly saw a large herd of feral hogs running ahead of them.

“Me and Rachel look at each other, and we’re like, ‘OK, let’s just haul it as fast as we can and go past the hogs,’” Clarkson said. “We start really picking up our speed, and we’re soaring, and the hogs all start running with us just as fast. And so all of us, we just became part of the herd with the hogs.”

Clarkson took a video to remember the unexpected moment.

“I think it’s such a good memory,” Furnish said. “What a way to start the year, you know?”
