Austin ISD suspends school closures as it works to gather feedback on district boundaries

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Independent School District Superintendent Matias Segura announced in a letter on Friday that the district will pause additional school closures as it moves toward gathering community feedback on district boundaries.

“These aligned patterns offer an opportunity to build communities, improve programmatic alignment, and reduce the number of times a student cohort splits into different schools. Ultimately, this work maximizes our resources and strengthens the academic experience across Austin ISD,” Segura said…
