The United South Panthers are one win away from their first regional finals appearance in program history.
After dropping Game 1 of the best-of-three series against the Lake Travis Cavaliers, the Panthers secured a 2-0 victory in Game 2 at the San Antonio ISD Sports Complex on May 15 to force a Game 3 and keep their Elite Eight hopes alive.
Roman Martinez tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out five. He also contributed one of the Panthers’ four hits and scored the team’s second run. United South’s first run came in the bottom of the third inning, when Alex Galvan scored on a Lake Travis error prompted by Samuel Martinez’s grounder to third base.
