Motorized bicyclist killed in Wednesday night collision in central Bakersfield: BPD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man on a motorized bicycle was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday night in central Bakersfield after he went against a red light, said Bakersfield police. The driver cooperated with law enforcement.

On June 3, 2026, at around 7:59 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Brundage Lane and A Street regarding an injury crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist. Upon arrival, a man was seen in the road suffering major injuries. Medical aid personnel arrived, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the man will be released at a later time by the Kern County Coroner’s Office…
