BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman who died after an 18-year-old man hit her vehicle in an alleged stolen truck that was speeding and ran a stop sign while in a pursuit with officers. The woman was identified as 39-year-old Amy Denise Menefee of Arvin.
The man, Ramiro Gutierrez-Ramos, had a felony warrant and was allegedly driving a truck with swapped license plates. After the crash, he and his passenger, a 16-year-old girl, allegedly tried to run away before getting arrested.
The Bakersfield Police Department said on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at about 8:07 a.m., the officers were called to assist the Kern County Auto Theft Task Force with a traffic stop involving 18-year-old Ramiro Gutierrez-Ramos, who had a felony warrant and was believed to be driving a stolen vehicle…
