BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man accused in a deadly stabbing over the weekend in East Bakersfield has been charged with first-degree murder.
Angel Garcia-Meza, 26, on Tuesday afternoon had a plea of not guilty entered on his behalf by the Kern County Public Defender’s Office. He’s due back in court June 22 and was ordered held without bail.
Garcia-Meza was arrested hours after a man was found dead with a stab wound at about 5:40 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 1100 block of Grace Street, according to sheriff’s officials. Deputies took him into custody near Morning Drive and College Avenue.
