Bakersfield PD investigates illegal gambling activity at central Bakersfield store

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — An employee was cited Tuesday after detectives investigated a store in central Bakersfield suspected of illegal gambling, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

At around 1:45 p.m. June 16, detectives from the BPD Vice Unit responded to Cloud 9 Mini Mart at 555 Brundage Ln. This was in response to multiple citizen complaints alleging illegal gambling activity at the store, according to police.

Officials seized three illegal gaming machines, U.S. currency and flavored tobacco products, which BPD says are illegal under California law.
