CHP Bakersfield: 19 DUI arrests, 72 citations during 12-hour enforcement period

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Nearly 20 people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence during a 12-hour Maximum Enforcement Period in the Bakersfield area this past weekend, according to statistics released by the California Highway Patrol’s Bakersfield office.

The enforcement period ran from Saturday, June 20, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, June 21, at 6 a.m. During that time, CHP Bakersfield said 72 people were cited. Nineteen people were arrested on alleged DUI charges, and six others were arrested on non-DUI crimes.
