BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — “The End of Oak Street” is getting comparisons to “Jurassic Park” based on the premise that dinosaurs are hunting and killing modern people. That is if you accept the idea that 1982 is modern.
Granted there are plenty of dinosaurs chomping their way through the unfortunate residents of a Detroit suburb who are mystically transported millions of years into the past. The reason for the event is never made clear but that is just the start of a long list of questions that should not be asked to get even a sliver of entertainment out of the film.
Back to the chomping. The difference between the new film from writer/director David Robert Mitchell (“It Follows”) and “Jurassic Park” is that instead of hope the humans will prevail there is more of a desire that the entire Oak Street central family gets eaten. That kind of thinking is never good…
