BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The city of Bakersfield shared statistics shedding light on its response to fires and illegal fireworks on the Fourth of July this year, along with a few suggested changes in city law.
The Bakersfield Fire Department and Bakersfield Police Department presented updates on its Fourth of July 2026 operations at the Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods Committee meeting on Friday.

On the night of July 4, 2026, Bakersfield fire officials responded to 237 emergency incidents, 75 of which were fire-related.
