Trial set for Half Moon Bay attempted murder case

HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (KRON) — A jury trial is set to begin this week for a man charged with attempted murder in connection to a fight and stabbing outside a Half Moon Bay bar and restaurant in October 2025. The suspect, Miguel Rodriguez, 40, of Delano, had previously served 17 years in state prison for a 2007 attempted murder conviction, the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office said.

Rodriguez was arrested in Redwood City on Dec. 2, 2025, nearly two months after the stabbing outside Old Princeton Landing on Oct. 5. Two enhancements were filed with the attempted murder charge, alleging great bodily injury and the use of a deadly weapon. He was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon with allegations of great bodily injury, three prior offenses, a prior serious felony, one or more serious felony convictions and felony with circumstances of aggravation.
