SHAFTER, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A Shafter mother is asking for community support to help her 9-year-old son experience more independence after a traumatic brain injury changed his life.
Katie Crosby-Venegas says her son, EJ, suffered the injury in June 2020 when he was just three years old.
“He was running in the house, playing with his sister, and he tripped or slipped and he hit his head,” Venegas said. “It caused a brain bleed.”
