Kern County supervisors approve Bakersfield Recovery Services to staff Family Justice Center

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — In a 2-1 vote Tuesday, Kern County supervisors approved an agreement between the District Attorney’s Office and Bakersfield Recovery Services to staff the Family Justice Center.

District 5 Supervisor Leticia Perez was absent from the meeting.

Perez and Board Chair Phillip Peters are the only supervisors who didn’t receive campaign money from Bakersfield Recovery’s leadership. The other three supervisors — Chris Parlier, Jeff Flores and David Couch — recused themselves due to a conflict of interest.

With just Peters left on the Board, the County Clerk had to draw names out of a jar to vote regardless of the conflict…
