BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Convicted rapist Vincent DeLeon was arraigned Friday on charges related to his escape this week, and ordered held without bail after District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer informed the court of the seriousness of his crimes.
Zimmer said DeLeon has a pending case for allegedly stabbing another inmate at Lerdo Jail, and faces a potential sentence of more than 200 years to life in prison when sentenced next month for raping a woman he kidnapped outside the In-Shape gym on Coffee Road.
Court Commissioner Thurman Owen noted his criminal history runs 17 pages.
