Pikes Studio Cinema Launches “Women in Film Series” with Honoree Lucien “Bowlegged Lou” George Jr.

(BALTIMORE – April 26, 2026) — A new cultural platform dedicated to elevating women’s voices in cinema is set to debut in the Baltimore region this week, as Pikes Studio Cinema launches its highly anticipated Women in Film Series with a powerful opening night event in Pikesville.

The inaugural program, scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., will take place at Pikes Studio Cinema, located at 921 Reisterstown Road, bringing together filmmakers, creatives, and community members for an evening rooted in storytelling, culture, and recognition.

At the center of the evening is Baltimore filmmaker Shelia Hall, whose short animated film will be screened as a featured presentation. Known for her creative storytelling and unique visual style, Hall’s work reflects the spirit of the series — uplifting independent voices and culturally significant narratives.

Adding star power and industry depth to the evening, Grammy-nominated producer and entertainer Lucien “Bowlegged Lou” George Jr. will introduce the program.
