BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Troy Carter, the manager of Chicken Shack known for recording daily inspirational messages on the restaurant’s answering machine, has died.
Carter recorded the menu each day on the restaurant’s answering machine and added an extra message at the end.
“Whatever is taking place, maybe the weather is bad that day and I just want somebody to drive safe. The life they save just may be their own,” Carter said in a 2019 interview with WAFB’s Greg Meriwether.
