Since opening in the Oil Center three years ago, this brunch restaurant has woven itself into the fabric of Lafayette’s community.
Parish Biscuit Company opened at 1120 Coolidge Street in September 2023 with a menu focused on brunch favorites, local fare, and of course biscuits, practically any way you like them. Parish’s 17 different biscuit entrees can come with boudin, fried green tomatoes, catfish, fried chicken, smoked sausage and tasso gravy, or even a marinated ribeye steak.
The steak comes on the “Caddo” biscuit, which is a Philly cheesesteak style with ribeye steak, onions, peppers and American cheese on a biscuit. Between weekend brunch parties and their daily medical district lunch crowds, Parish Biscuit Co. bustles with activity every day of the week — and they are bringing their unique flavor experience to Baton Rouge by the end of the summer.
The restaurant will open its second location at 220 W. Lee Dr., Baton Rouge in August or September, and the menu will be the same one served in Lafayette. From shareables like French toast sticks and boudin balls, to Louisiana-styled brunch options like grits and grillades, there’s something to please every palate on the wide-ranging menu — but if you’re trying Parish Biscuit Co. for the first time, I recommend going for one of their parish-inspired biscuits.
The “Lafayette” biscuit is dressed with a fried boudin patty and a smear of Creole mustard aioli, bringing the spicy, earthy flavors that Acadiana is known for. The “Jefferson” is reminiscent of a Monte Cristo sandwich, making it perfect for people who can’t decide between sweet and savory — and I loved the fig preserves that came on the side…
