Second lawsuit filed over deadly Iberville Parish courthouse shooting

IBERVILLE PARISH, La. (WAFB) – A second lawsuit has been filed in connection with the deadly shooting inside the Iberville Parish Courthouse that killed Deputy Charles Riley, according to court documents.

The new lawsuit was filed by Deputy Mickyla Stewart and Kathryn Gauthreaux on behalf of her minor son, Anthony Mascaro III. Unlike the wrongful death lawsuit previously filed by Riley’s widow, this lawsuit seeks damages tied to Stewart’s alleged psychological injuries and claims involving the death of Lt. Anthony Mascaro Jr., who the petition claims suffered severe psychological injuries, including PTSD, after responding to the shooting.
