Extreme and Major Heat Risk Covers Much of the Region
The latest HeatRisk outlook for Tuesday shows extreme risk levels concentrated over western Mississippi and Louisiana, including Jackson, Baton Rouge, and Gulfport, representing the most dangerous tier on the heat risk scale. Major risk extends across most of Alabama, including Birmingham and Montgomery, along with portions of Arkansas near Little Rock and Pine Bluff.
Moderate to minor heat risk stretches farther east into Georgia, including Atlanta, Macon, and Augusta, showing the intensity of the heat gradually easing toward the eastern edge of the outlook.
