BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Nearly 10 years after the 2016 flood destroyed the Spring Park HUD homes, a new affordable housing development is preparing to welcome residents back.
The Denham Springs Housing Authority’s new $6 million HUD-funded development is expected to open in the coming weeks, replacing the housing lost during the historic flood. The complex includes 34 affordable apartments with one, two, and three-bedroom units designed to serve low- and moderate-income residents, particularly seniors and people with disabilities.
