BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Derrick Perkins, also known as “Stanka,” was sentenced Monday to 18 years in prison in connection with multiple charges, including the disposal of Georgia businessman Nathan Millard’s body.
Before the sentencing, Judge Carson Mercantel was able to privately read a statement from the widow of Nathan Millard, as well as a handwritten letter from Perkins to the court regarding his apology to the family.
Perkins received 18 years at hard labor for obstruction of justice, three years at hard labor for unlawful disposal of human remains, and five years at hard labor for aggravated flight. Judge Mercantel ordered all three sentences to run concurrently. Perkins will receive credit for time served.
