BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A convicted felon is accused of attempting to flee with a gun while on LSU’s campus.
Colin Bess, 22, of Baton Rouge was charged with bicycles; front lamps; rear lamps; side and rear reflectors, carrying a firearm or dangerous weapon by a student or non-student on school property, at school-sponsored functions, or in a firearm-free zone, resisting an officer, possession of firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
An officer with the LSU Police Department saw two men riding bikes without front lamps on campus around 11:05 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8. A traffic stop took place on S. Stadium Drive, close to Fieldhouse Drive, and the officer reportedly smelled marijuana on both individuals…
