Gov. Jeff Landry clarified his comment suggesting “hug a thug” criminal policies and high acquittal rates from judges contributed to the deadly mass shooting at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge.
At the end of a long-ranging interview with WBOK in New Orleans, Landry on Wednesday said he’d consider his choice of words in the future while asserting there’s still “complicity” around being sympathetic toward convicted criminals.
