BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Principal Kathie Johnson returned to Villa del Rey Creative Services and Arts Magnet School on Wednesday (May 6) to a surprise welcome from students and staff after completing treatment for cancer.
Johnson was diagnosed with large B cell lymphoma last year. Last week, she received news she is cancer-free.
“Today is so overwhelming. I’m about to cry all over again,” Johnson said.
