CALCASIEU PARISH — A head-on crash on Louisiana Highway 27 near Natalie Road left two men dead Friday afternoon, Louisiana State Police said.
Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop D responded to the two-vehicle crash shortly after 3:30 p.m. May 8. The crash claimed the life of Edgardo Reyes-Rivera, 23, of Denham Springs, La., and Jonathon Puente, 35, of Beaumont.
Investigators said Reyes-Rivera was driving a 2022 Toyota Camry north on LA 27 as a 2014 BMW 550i traveled south. For reasons still under investigation, the Toyota crossed the centerline into the southbound lane and struck the BMW head-on, state police said…
