Prairieville man sentenced to 25 years pursuant to distribution plea

On January 7, 2026, 35-year-old Franklin Darville III of Prairieville, LA, pled guilty as charged to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl, and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance.

Darville was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long and Robin O’Bannon. Presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge John Smith.

In March 2025, narcotics detectives with the Gonzales Police Department and Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office received information indicating that Franklin Darville III was distributing quantities of heroin and methamphetamine in Ascension Parish.
