Gorge Amphitheatre mass shooting lawsuit reaches settlement

GRANT COUNTY — The families of two women killed in the 2023 mass shooting outside the Gorge Amphitheatre have settled their wrongful death lawsuit against the venue’s owner.

Brandy Escamilla, 29, and Joselyn Ruiz, 26, were killed and three other people wounded when a concertgoer opened fire in the Gorge campground outside the Beyond Wonderland festival. The two women were engaged to be married, and their families sued Gorge owner LiveNation for wrongful death, claiming security lapses contributed to the incident.

Lawyers gave notice May 20 in King County court that they’d reached a settlement with LiveNation. The families’ attorneys said the terms of the settlement would remain confidential…
