The race for King County assessor is still too close to call after three days of counting.
On Thursday, while first-place Rob Foxcurran looked poised to advance to the general election, the battle for second place was within half a percentage point. Anti-tax candidate and brewery owner Dominique Scarimbolo was just 1,213 votes ahead of Chris Roberts, the former mayor of Shoreline. Second place advances to the November ballot, along with the first-place winner.
The county assessor is responsible for determining property values for the purposes of taxation, though the role does not set tax rates.
