I-405 fully reopens following car fire in Bellevue

BELLEVUE, Wash. — A car caught fire on the shoulder of northbound Interstate 405 on Friday.

Washington State Patrol and fire crews responded to the scene near milepost 9 around 7:30 a.m. By 7:45 a.m., traffic was backed up around 5 miles due to the incident, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The interstate fully reopened just before 9 a.m. after the car was towed away. Initially the two right lanes were blocked for the response, and traffic was getting by in the HOV lane…
