Suspect who allegedly set trailers on fire at Lovelady Thrift Store identified in Center Point

CENTER POINT, Ala. (WIAT) — A juvenile suspect has been identified in connection to a fire that occurred at the Lovelady Thrift Store on Wednesday.

The fire impacted two trailers filled with donated inventory. According to Center Point Fire Chief Brandon Dahlen, the fire was determined to have been intentionally set by a juvenile, whose name has not been publicly released due to his age. Investigators with the Center Point Fire District have worked closely with partnering agencies to collect evidence related to the incident.

“The Center Point Fire District extends its appreciation to the community for the information shared to help the investigation,” Dahlen said in a statement. “We also want to recognize the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for their assistance and support of this investigation.”…
