BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Birmingham native Chris Richards is representing his country in the World Cup for the first time and his parents, Ken and Carrie, couldn’t be prouder.
Carrie said it was a very emotional moment for them before the U.S. Men’s National Team’s first game against Paraguay.
“I think for both of us, watching the first game, in the national anthem, I just got chills and just poured with tears because of the hard work, the dedication and the people that helped us get here,” Carrie said.
The moment was extra special for the Richards family after an injury forced Chris to be left off of the United States’ roster four years ago…
