A timeline of ALDOT projects happening now in central Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Eight road projects totaling more than $300 million are underway to improve roadways across central Alabama.

“We just ask that you just wait. It’s all gonna be worth it when the projects are finished. You’ll be able to get through those corridors a lot more quickly and efficiently,” said Jon Paepcke, communications coordinator for ALDOT.

I-59 and Highway 280 projects

The widening of I-59 in Trussville is expected to have all three lanes north and southbound open by early fall of this year.

The Highway 280 widening and resurfacing project is also scheduled for completion this fall. The highway will be closed again next weekend at Pumphouse Road…
