BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – As summer break kicks off for students, officials with the YMCA of Greater Birmingham say they see an increase in families looking for food resources.
That is why they’re launching a new free fresh food distribution initiative at the Greystone YMCA in partnership with the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama.
Beginning Monday, June 1, individuals and families in need will be able to receive a 15-to-25-pound box of food, including shelf-stable, non-perishable items and fresh produce, through a convenient drive-thru distribution that will be hosted at the Greystone YMCA…
